Linkage Between Mangrove Seedling Colonization, Sediment Traits, and Nitrogen Input

چکیده
Mangroves around the world settle along coasts and estuaries, where they usually encounter aquaculture effluent that causes eutrophication regulates nitrogen cycle in their ecosystems. Moreover, physical–chemical features of sediment mangrove habitats might be altered by coastal wind, waves, currents more frequently under condition increasing extreme climatic events. These events affect process colonization/regeneration mangroves. To study how exogenous input texture root system establishment propagules early growth seedlings, turn, we set up a mesocosm experiment to explore morphological physiological responses two mangroves, i.e., Kandelia obovata Sonneratia apetala . We found seedlings mostly showed significant differences across treatment; K. were intensively influenced than S. seedlings. It could ascribed roots sensitive Conversely, treatment slighter even non-significant influence on results suggest K performed similarly. In estuaries featuring various textures, conservation restoration mangroves should consider these conditions ensure sustainable development

In vitro colonization and increase in nitrogen fixation of seedling roots of black mangrove inoculated by a filamentous cyanobacteria
An isolate of the filamentous cyanobacterium Microcoleus sp. was obtained from black mangrove aerial root (pneumatophore) and inoculated onto young mangrove seedlings to evaluate N2-fixation and rootcolonization capacities of the bacterium under in vitro conditions in closed-system experiments. N2 fixation (acetylene reduction) gradually increased with time and reached its peak 5 days after ino...
متن کاملRelationship between Hyperspectral Measurements and Mangrove Leaf Nitrogen Concentrations
The use of spectral response curves for estimating nitrogen (N) leaf concentrations generally has been found to be a challenging task for a variety of plant species. In this investigation, leaf N concentration and corresponding laboratory hyperspectral data were examined for two species of mangrove (Avicennia germinans, Rhizophora mangle) representing a variety of conditions (healthy, poor cond...
متن کاملA genetic relationship between nitrogen use efficiency and seedling root traits in maize as revealed by QTL analysis
That root system architecture (RSA) has an essential role in nitrogen acquisition is expected in maize, but the genetic relationship between RSA and nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) traits remains to be elucidated. Here, the genetic basis of RSA and NUE traits was investigated in maize using a recombination inbred line population that was derived from two lines contrasted for both traits. Under hi...
متن کاملCorrelation between anammox activity and microscale distribution of nitrite in a subtropical mangrove sediment.
The distribution of anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) in nature has been addressed by only a few environmental studies, and our understanding of how anammox bacteria compete for substrates in natural environments is therefore limited. In this study, we measure the potential anammox rates in sediment from four locations in a subtropical tidal river system. Porewater profiles of NO(x)(-) (NO...
متن کاملStatistical Perspective and Pollution Indicator in Mengkabong Mangrove Sediment Sabah
The role of tidal processes on intertidal surface sediments is frequently stated but rarely investigated due to the methodological restrictions. This study provides a basis for describing the tidal effects on the mangrove sediment. It reports investigations into the chemical composition of mangrove surface sediment in Mengkabong lagoon, Sabah, Malaysia. The levels of 16 parameters were determin...
